アメリカで、新たな動物虐待・拷問防止法案が可決される見込みと「THE EPOCH TIMES」が報じています。
今回話題となっている法案は、「動物虐待を行った者に対して、多大な罰金及び最大で7年の懲役刑が課せられる」というもの。ブキャナン議員とドイチェ議員が同法案を提出し、それぞれのTwitterアカウントで法案の意義を訴えています。

第115回議会では、動物を虐待から守るための法律に対する圧倒的な支持があったが、それは決して票を投じなかった。今日、私は@VernBuchanan（ブキャナン議員）と一緒に※PACT Actを再導入しました。私たちの動物を守るのは、超党派的で常識的な方針です。

今回提出された法案は、既に36州の200を超える警察署、保安官、各種団体が賛同することを表明しているといいます。可決されることで、多くの動物たちが救われることになると思いますし、他の国々に対しても影響を与えると思います。
動物虐待は、決して許される行為ではありません。こうした法案が、動物虐待を減少させるきっかけになってほしいと願います。
